Mastering Your Mindset for Health, Happiness & Wealth

Mastering Your Mindset for Health, Happiness & Wealth

Mastering your inner game and mindset is key to health, happiness, and your financial wealth. I recently had the chance to speak with Sean Croxton of seancroxton.com about his success with his first online business Underground Wellness. I followed Sean’s Underground Wellness podcast for several years prior to launching Wellness Hub. Sean and I discussed the challenges of having a start-up online business. He told me about a book called Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker that helped him go from broke to highly successful financially. Sean said that he had to change his mindset first and Eker’s book helped him do that.

Eker explains that “Training and managing your own mind is the most important skill you could ever own, in terms of both happiness and success.”

Basically, that your way of thinking will determine your actions and therefore determine your results. The first part of the book explains how each of us is conditioned to think and act when it comes to money and strategies for revising our mental money blueprint. Part 2 of the book examines the differences between how rich, middle-class, and poor people think, along with new attitudes to adopt and actions to take that will lead to permanent changes in your financial life.

I think this is important to share because money and financial security is a major source of stress for most people at one point or another. The following are some of the observations in Eker’s book that relate to identity, purpose, physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Wealth Principles

1. Your income can only grow to the extent that you do.

2. The only way to change your “outer” world is to first change your “inner” world.

Thoughts lead to feelings.
Feelings lead to actions.
Actions lead to results.

3. Consciousness is observing your thoughts and actions so that you can live from true choice in the present moment rather than being run by programming from the past.

4. You can choose to think in ways that will support you in your happiness and success, instead of ways that don’t.

5. The number one reason most people don’t get what they want is that they don’t know what they want.

Identity & Purpose

We each came to this earth with natural talents, things we’re just naturally good at. These gifts were given to you for a reason: to use and share with others. Research shows that the happiest people are those who use their natural talents to the utmost. Part of your mission in life then must be to share your gifts and value with as many people as possible. That means being willing to play big.

Rich people focus on what they want. Poor people focus on what they don’t want. Universal Law = What you focus on expands.

If you want to get rich, focus on making, keeping, and investing your money. If you want to be poor, focus on spending your money.

Nothing has meaning except the meaning we give it! You decide if you are worthy. Either way you will live into your story.

How you do anything is how you do everything. The way you are in one area is usually the way you are in all areas. If you’ve been blocking yourself from receiving money, chances are you’ve been blocking yourself from receiving everything else that’s good in life.

Where attention goes, energy flows and results show.

Until you show that you can handle what you’ve got, you won’t get any more!

The habit of managing your money is more important than the amount.
Either you control money, or it will control you.

The only time you are actually growing is when you are uncomfortable,
If you are willing to do only what’s easy, life will be hard. But if you are willing to do what’s hard, life will be easy.

Mindset

You start with observation. Notice how your mind consistently produces thoughts that are not supportive to your wealth and happiness. As you identify those thoughts, you can begin to consciously replace those non-empowering thoughts with empowering ones. This book offers declarations that you can revisit as needed to reinforce empowering thoughts.

Decide that from now on, your thoughts do not run you, you run your thoughts. From now on, your mind is not the captain of the ship, you are the captain of the ship, and your mind works for you.

You can choose your thoughts. Choose to entertain only empowering thoughts.

You have the natural ability to cancel any thought that is not supporting you, at any time. You can also install self-empowering thoughts at any time, simply by choosing to focus on them.

You will pay for negative thoughts. You will pay in money, in energy, in time, in health, and in your level of happiness. Divide your thoughts into empowering or disempowering.

When a non-supportive thought bubbles up, say “Cancel” or “Thank you for sharing” and replace it with a more supportive way of thinking. –Power Thinking

With Power Thinking –we understand that everything is neutral, that nothing has meaning except for the meaning we give it, Power thinking recognizes that our thoughts are not true, but since we’re making up a story anyway, we might as well make up a story that supports us.

Action is the bridge between the inner world and the outer world.

Fear, doubt, and worry are among the greatest obstacles not only to success, but to happiness as well.

“If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always got.” Jim Rohn

Be cautious of whom you are learning and taking advice from. Make sure that they have demonstrated success in the arena of importance to you.

Anyway, I hope these highlights give you some food for thought for mastering your own Inner Game for 2017 and beyond.
